Sweet! No hurry at all, please take your time. I'm backlogged myself. I need to get busy and start returning a whole heap of kindness before Kharma catches up with me.

ok - call me a truly pathetic moron and musically inept - i know the name but nothing about the music (yes, i am red-faced and ashamed), but since one of the reasons i am here on the site is to learn, i have to admit my complete absense of education regarding this particular artist. (another reason i could never go to deadhook - you guys are the best)

educate me tiger!!!

When someone says Eric Clapton, a lot of people think "Cocaine." He actually didn't write it, Cale did. If you check around some Clapton sites, its kind of funny how many others took part in his music. I think Cale did "After Midnight" also. Cale and Clapton were on that guitar special on PBS probably a year or so ago. He can get right with it too, as well as write music...

direwolf0701!!!! "absense" - remember last night? The Spelling Police are on patrol as part of the NSA's program to save our children. Though your spelling makes more "sense," you better edit that one before grandma shows up! Did you ever wonder if your cat is really a narc?

Um, OK. You're a truly...Just Kidding. FYi, Clapton and Cale, just released a duet CD, you can grab a short taste at I-tunes. If you get hooked, the Naturally LP has most of the familiar tunes, but most everything through the 5 LP was excellent.

You're a truly pathetic moron and musically inept!

Hey, you said to call you that, just tryin to oblige...

Hi I'm home, survived black friday and found a thread close to my heart. Read most of it, then had to run to the Quickie Mart, but i'm back. I'll just hit all the posts here.

The PBS show was from Claptons Crossroads Guitar Festival in Austin TX 2004 I think. PBS only showed about half of it, it's on dvd for around $30, money well spent. The JJ Cale/Clapton segment was my favorite though there are many highlights and great guitarists. Alas my copy is missing, dang Indian Burial Grounds that I live on!

The new album with JJ and Calpton is called "the Road to Escondido", I highly recommend it especially if you like "Naturally" a lot of that flavor.

Dire I'll send you a copy of that and Naturally (if I can find it) with you're other stuff

"scuse me, it's 4:20! I'll be back

Hey Cush, Glad someone else knew what I was talking about with the guitar show deal. There was some great stuff on the copy I saw and PBS but I was too cheap to buy the DVD. I really got a kick out of H.Sumlin (sp?)and B.Guy. Bad thing about seeing Buddy Guy, reminds me of the time he was playing 20 min. from here, in a small, beautiful venue and I didn't find out about it until the day AFTER. Oh well...

I hate when that happens! Many years ago, I don't remember which tour, a good friend of mine had been in North Africa & the Middle East for several months. He did a little tour through Europe afterward and didn't find out until he got back to the States that he been almost every city they played, about 3 days behind the Dead! Now is that a sad story or what?

The Clapton Guitar Fest is a great show, don't be cheap, it's only $30 bucks and should be easy to find, I have 1/2 a dozen copies at my store right now!

cush212: ..just got out from a lengthy questioning by NSA's Spelling Police. I explained the difference between the Archive and the Forum.

Archive is where the reviews are written and they should be over there.

Forum = anarchy = we are protected by "poetic license." They asked to see my poetic license so I showed them my "Aoxomoxoa" cd; they left speechless. -- Later, - Ashes
